Well, since my comment was lost, I’ll try again.
I LOVE this. It’s brilliant! It works for me on so many levels, not least because of the familiar blanket, or of course Dickens.
I love the recognizable objects, the poses of you and A, the fact that you’re reading Dickens to him, the puppy in the box, the fantastic sofa…I love it all. your style is so perfect. You are so talented! This is to me your strength: illustration.
PS. Did you guys really get one of those lamps??
PS. The card is now on my fridge. I just received it today!! Thank you. I’m trying to decide what to do with the three I now have. Frame them as a triptych?

Thank you!
We don’t actually have one of those lamps but really love them. We have that Ikea one that is sort of similar.
As for the dog, I realized as I was painting it, that the poor thing is stuck in there until Christmas day!

Just found this browsing around …. can you believe that we got maggie a month later?!?
(Thankfully she wasn’t in the box
)
Happy Anniversary!

I know! We wished her, and she came. But not in a box.
